ETERNAL RIFTS LORE
Centuries have passed since the arrival of the original founders of Ragnarok. The crashing of a ship to the shore causing the departure of a family of mechanical engineers. Their family was strong, intelligent, and able to bring about the highest level of technology from the smallest amount of resources. As the years slipped by, the coming of ages happened. From steampunk to mechanical robots, their generation prospered. However, little did they know that on the other side of the Island, a different kind of age was springing forth.

Along the other side of the island, a lone man had arrived, being brought to the lands for some unknown reason. However, the lands themselves had a purpose, and the Spaniard would learn it in time. Being of noble descent, he had little knowledge of how to build things manually. It took him some time to figure it out, but time was all he had. Something from below called to him, and soon he noticed a strange knowledge, strange powers that seemed to come from him bit by bit. He began to study the lands, soon finding a spot that was perfect to build. Brick by brick he built the castle until it was finally completed. However, beneath the surface of the castle lay a power like no other.

Others arrived, and soon the founders eventually found each other. A mild rift between technology and magic would be formed, only to be brought to a head when one of the technology engineers, met one the mages...and the two hit it off. The engineer taught the young woman everything he could about his skill. Unfortunately, she could not do the same...for her magic came to her naturally. In time, she began to realize that the differences between technology and magic, could be combined in a way that would make it much easier to survive for both of them. She stepped away from her family and began the building of her own castle, and a city that would bring about trade and more to the people that came to their home.

Would the two sides be able to continue working together, or would they both find themselves in a struggle with each other, and the world around them? Could the combined strength of the two factions work together to survive in the harsh lands known as Ragnarok. Would their one leader of both be able to keep the two factions together in unity, or would she fail...like so many had done before? Time was a key factor in all of this, for one never knew when they too would be called away, in search of another Ark to call home?
